About Us

Living Ability Not Disability (LAND) Group is a non-profit organization based in Malta that is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities and promoting a more inclusive, accessible, and compassionate society for all. Founded on the belief that every person deserves dignity, equal opportunities, and the freedom to live independently, the organization works tirelessly to support people of all abilities and help them reach their full potential.

At LAND Group, we believe that disability should never define a person’s value, dreams, or future. Our mission is centered around shifting the focus from limitations to abilities, talents, strengths, and possibilities. We are dedicated to creating an environment where individuals with disabilities are respected, included, and encouraged to participate fully in every aspect of community life.

Our organization serves as a safe and supportive space where people can access resources, guidance, emotional support, educational opportunities, and social programs designed to improve their quality of life. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, and community engagement, LAND Group actively works to challenge stereotypes and remove barriers that prevent individuals from achieving independence and social inclusion.

We understand that true inclusion goes beyond accessibility. It means creating opportunities for participation, leadership, education, employment, and personal growth. That is why LAND Group focuses on developing programs and initiatives that empower individuals to gain confidence, build skills, and become active members of society. We collaborate with families, caregivers, volunteers, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners to ensure that every individual receives the support and encouragement they deserve.

Our activities include awareness workshops, educational support programs, community outreach initiatives, recreational and social activities, advocacy campaigns, life skills development, counseling support, and programs aimed at improving accessibility and equal participation. We also work to educate the wider community about disability rights, inclusion, and the importance of treating every person with respect and understanding.

LAND Group believes that communities grow stronger when diversity is embraced and everyone has the opportunity to contribute. By promoting acceptance and encouraging positive social change, we strive to build a future where individuals with disabilities can live with confidence, independence, and hope.

The heart of our organization lies in compassion, equality, empowerment, and community. Every project we undertake is guided by our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families. We are proud to stand alongside those who face daily challenges and to advocate for a world where no one is excluded because of disability.

As we continue to grow, Living Ability Not Disability (LAND) Group remains dedicated to inspiring change, supporting inclusion, and creating opportunities that help individuals thrive. Together, we believe we can build a society where abilities are celebrated, barriers are removed, and every person is given the chance to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.

/ Governance, not consultation

Led by disabled people. Built for structural change.

Disabled people hold the board seats.

LAND Group's board and program leadership positions are held by disabled people. Not advisory roles. Decision-making authority — on policy, programs, and budget.

Community-led structure

Authority sits with the people it affects.

Every major decision at LAND Group — from access audit scope to policy submissions to budget allocation — is made by a board where disabled people hold the majority of seats.

We operate under Maltese law and within EU accessibility frameworks. Our governance documents are public. Accountability is structural, not performative.

Program leads are appointed from within the disability community. External partners are brought in for technical capacity only — they do not set direction.

▸ Structural mandate

We change infrastructure. Not attitudes.

LAND Group's mandate is access audits, legal advocacy, and policy submissions — the hard infrastructure of inclusion. We measure outcomes in ramps built, regulations amended, and employment pathways created.

The documented record — access audits completed, policy submissions lodged, programs delivered — is public. Read what we have actually done.
